The purpose of the website is to collect data about bridges, footbridges and overpasses located in Sieradz, Poland. The database was created in order to assign all pieces of information concerning the bridges and allow viewers to browse them easily. Structures listed on the website are vital for transportation in the town, contribute to its development and have historical and aesthetic value. And yet most residents of the town lack the knowledge in this field. Hopefully, the site might contribute to raising awareness of the relevance of bridges in Sieradz among the residents of the town.
Searching and describing the structures was carried out using topographic maps, satellite imagery and aerial photos (orthophotomaps) available on the Internet. Information concerning structure types and dimensions of particular bridges wesa based on professional knowledge, the Internet and literature.
All photos posted on the website were taken by the author. It is forbidden to copy and use them without author's permission.

Menu is located on the right. For every bridge a separate post was created, containing a short summary and pictures, labeled with category. Bridges in Sieradz are divided into four categories:

Bearing - a component carrying the loads from the bridge to the piers
Cross girder - secondary perpendicular girders carrying the loads to main girders
Prefabricated element - structural element built offsite and then installed in the structure
Abutment - support at the end of the bridge
